The Kimberley is a tropical climate broadly divided into dry (April to November) and wet (December to March) seasons. The Aborigines traditionally further divide the year into seven seasons. 'Yawala' runs from September to November. There has been no rain for at least 5 months. Rivers and pools are drying up, and daytime temperatures are scorching.
