Old Medina
Essaouira, Morocco
The Medina of Essaouira, Morocco was built as a fortified town in the 18th century, and is now a UNESCO World Heritage listed site.
In the evening the tide runs low, allowing one to jump over the wall separating the main square from the shoreline. There were a number of fisherman nestled amongst the rocks enjoying some drinks and company after the days work.
The orientation of the old medina wall is perfect to catch the last rays of sunset. I used a polarizer to darken the sky and enhance contrast against the warm tones of the city.
