Spice Cones – Marrakesh, Morocco

Spice Cones

Marrakesh, Morocco

Spice cones are characteristic of the sights and smells within the souqs of Morocco. Pictured are paprika (which makes an excellent crisp flavouring!), turmeric and ginger.

When I complimented him on the display, the stall owner admitted that it was done up specifically so tourists could take nice pictures. He patiently let me take a few angles before shooing me away, and surprisingly didn't even charge for the privilege.

The contrasting colour of a neighbouring stall, and shallow depth of field allows the subject to pop.
